The Brewster Whitecaps are ready for the 2016 season, which kicked off on Friday, June 10th with their first game at their home field Stony Brook Elementary! The Brewster Whitecaps had 24 wins last season, making them the second highest scoring team in the Cape Cod League. This year, the Brewster Whitecaps has players competing in the D1 Regionals. Click here to find out who is in the finals and follow along as they make their way to the National Championship World Series, which starts on June 18th.
Jamie Shevchik is back as the team’s head coach this year, making this his second year with the Brewster Whitecaps. Jamie is no stranger to college baseball leagues. He was the head coach for Danbury in the New England Collegiate Baseball League for 8 years. Just recently, Jamie won the 2016 Coach of the Year award for the D3Baseball.com Mid-Atlantic Region.
The Brewster Whitecaps have been a part of the Cape Cod Baseball League since 1988. In 1994, the team qualified for the championship series, but did not take the win. However in the 2000 season, the Brewster Whitecaps won the League Championship! With an all-star team and award winning coach, the Brewster Whitecaps have what it takes to sweep the series this season and claim their second League Championship!
