Cape Cod takes care of its own, and it has never been more obvious than when you look at the number of amazing charities on the Cape taking care of its residents, natural landscape and wildlife. Here are some Cape Cod charities & nonprofits making a difference for our community members and beautiful Cape Cod as a whole.

Dream Day on Cape Cod

Details: Dream Day Cape Cod gives families with children who have serious and / or life threatening conditions a week of fun on Cape Cod. There are six sessions throughout the summer for families to enjoy their time together, make memories and get away from the stress of dealing with doctors appointments, tests and other issues related to their conditions. To support Dream Day on Cape Cod, you can donate online, support one of their many fundraisers and events or volunteer your time. Check their website to see how you can be involved in giving these children and their families a week of fun and contribute your part to Cape Cod charities & nonprofits.

Nauset Youth Alliance

Details: Nauset Youth Alliance is dedicated to the youth in the community, providing after school enrichment programs and summer programs at the Eddy Elementary School and Stony Brook Elementary School. The summer program is located at the Eddy Elementary School. It is the goal of this non profit to spark growth in children in their social skills, and social awareness as well as individual growth academically and creatively. Masonic Angel Foundation

Details: The Masonic Angel Foundation provides services to children in the community that do not qualify for typical state assistance programs, but still have needs that can not be met by their families. The Masonic Angel Foundation helps families pay for necessities such as eyeglasses or winter coats as well as scholarships to learning experiences that will help the children get ahead. Requests for assistance are submitted by counselors, faculty and nurses at local schools. The Masonic Angel Foundation is different from most foundations because 100% of money raised goes directly to the cause. None of the money goes towards the charity’s overhead. CapeAbilities

Location: Various Locations Throughout Cape Cod

Details: CapeAbilities provides services and support to individuals with various disabilities such as job placement, residential services, and day programs. It is a great example of Cape Cod charities & nonprofits. CapeAbilities has grown over time to include opportunities for employment throughout the community in a variety of enterprises. There is the CapeAbilties Farm which offers produce and flowers for purchase, and the CapeAbilities Farm to Table Market & Gallery which sells produce, furniture and goods. There is also the CapeAbilties Thrift Shop which sells furniture and decor that has been rehabbed by the CapeAbilities Furniture Rescue and Restoration Program and the CapeAbilties Vending which serves various locations between Eastham to Wareham. Cape Cod Fisherman’s Alliance

Details: The Cape Cod Fisherman’s Alliance began in 1991 when a group of local fishermen that fished commercially got together to come up with a fishing management solutions to protect the fishing industry while still protecting the fish. Through community education, first hand knowledge of the environment and input from the scientific community, this organization works to ensure that the fishing industry thrives for generations to come. Family Pantry of Cape Cod

Hours: Saturday 10 am – 12 pm / Tuesday 10 am – 3:30 pm / Thursday 10 am – 3:30 pm

Details: The Family Pantry of Cape Cod is dedicated to providing food as well as clothing to the people in need throughout our community. The Family Pantry assists people from every walk of life, and will not discriminate against anyone based on their color, race, sexual orientation, disability, marital status or religion. If you are interested in supporting the Family Pantry of Cape Cod, they accept donations and have volunteer opportunities. Donations are accepted Tuesdays 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m Thursdays 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, 5:00 – 7:00 pm Saturdays 7:00 am – 12 pm. To see what items to donate, there is a list on their website of the most needed items. It’s a great way to support one of the Cape Cod charities & nonprofits.

Elder Services of Cape Cod & the Islands

Hours: Monday – Friday 9 am – 5 pm

Details: The Elder Services of Cape Cod and the Islands provides advocacy, services and access to programs for the elderly population in our community. Whether it is a newly retired person looking for a volunteer opportunity to fill their now free time or an elderly person that is looking for the right nursing home, this organization can help. The Elder Services of Cape Cod and Islands delivers meals to the homes of people that are in need, and provide meals to many senior dining centers. This organization relies on volunteers to help with their mission, check out their webpage if you are able to volunteer or donate directly.

Cape Cod is a small sandbar with a big heart. As Cape Codders and lovers of Cape Cod, we take care of our own, so it is no surprise that Cape Cod is home to some amazing  charities & nonprofits that assist the community.
