The busy summer season may be over, but locals and some savvy visitors know that the Cape Cod fall is the best time to enjoy this beautiful place we call home. The weather is mild and everything is still open before closing up shop for the winter. Here are some of the Cape Cod fall festivals going on this season you need to check out.
Eastham’s Windmill Weekend
Address: The Windmill Green, Route 6 Eastham
Date(s): September 7th thru Sunday September 9th
Details: A fun filled weekend to celebrate Cape Cod fall, your neighbors, families and history of Eastham! There’s a little something for everyone, including a parade, road race, car show, local crafters and sand art contest.
Harwich Hometown Parade
Where: Route 28, Harwich Port
Date(s): September 9th at 11:30 am
Details: The Harwich hometown parade always follows the Harwich Family Beach Day, and this year the theme is “Feel the Rhythm of Harwich.” The parade starts on Freeman Street, then runs along Route 28 to Doane Road. The route then goes up Doane Road, going left at the Sisson Road intersection up to South Street ending at the Harwich Cultural Center.
Harwich Family Beach Day
Where: Red River Beach, Harwich
Date(s): September 8th 11 am – 3 pm
Details: Enjoy sand sculpture contests, face painting, games and craft projects on Red River Beach. This family friendly event is free for all ages to enjoy and draws a crowd every year.
Annual Harwich Arts and Music Cranberry Festival
Address: Oak Street behind the Harwich Community Center
Date(s): September 15th 10:00am – 6:00pm and September 16th 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Details: Thanks to the Harwich Chamber of Commerce, the fireworks display is back this year to celebrate the Annual Harwich Arts and Music Cranberry Festival! Enjoy a weekend of live music, crafts and family friendly fun at the Cape Cod fall festival. Admission and parking are free, and there will be 150 vendors and 12 community booths set up to check out.
Truro Treasures Weekend
Address: Various locations throughout Truro
Date(s): September 21st and September 23rd
Details: The Truro Treasures Weekend is celebrating its 27th year, and it all kicks off with a presentation on sharks at the Highland House Museum. There is a cocktail party at the Whitman House Restaurant from 5:30-7:00 pm and Arts and Crafts Flea Market at the Truro Central School on both days.
Celebrate Our Waters Weekend
Address: Throughout the town of Orleans
Date(s): September 22nd and September 23rd
Details: For a full list of details, check out the headquarters for the Celebrate Our Waters Weekend The Old Firehouse, 44 Main Street. On Saturday, at the Old Firehouse there will be an art show displaying artwork by local students. The winner of this art show will be announced at the bonfire on Saturday night, so check out the work for yourself!
Fall for the Arts on Cape Cod and the Islands
Address: The Hyannis Green and towns throughout Cape Cod
Date(s): October 1st through November 1st
Details: There will be events throughout Cape Cod and the Islands to celebrate the arts through musical performances, kids art activities, lectures and guided walks. Yarmouth Seaside Festival

Details: The Yarmouth Seaside Festival is a fun filled 3 day event that features live music, rides, games, vendors, a parade and a road race. The Yarmouth Seaside Festival is celebrating its 40th year this year, so go down and check out this family friendly Cape Cod fall festival because the website promises that this year will be over the top. Cape Cod Brew Fest
Address: The Cape Cod Fairgrounds 1220 Nathan Ellis Highway / Route 151 East Falmouth
Date(s): October 13th 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm
Details: The Cape Cod Brew Fest will host over 100 different breweries, offering over 300 different types of beer. There will be food vendors on site, and live music throughout the event. Everyone leaves the festival with a commemorative glass from the event.
Wellfleet OysterFest
Address: All along Main Street in Wellfleet
Date(s): October 13th 10am – October 14th at 5pm
Details: This fun filled Cape Cod fall event celebrating Wellfleet’s oysters, clams and fishing culture will be held in the center of town October 13th and 14th rain or shine. There is a variety of activities taking place throughout the weekend that would appeal to children and adults such as live music, demonstrations and local vendors. There is a children’s area set up with their own entertainment, face painters and crafts.
Chatham Oktoberfest Festival
Address: Kate Gould Park, Chatham
Date(s): October 20th 10:30 am – 4:30 pm
Details: Enjoy some traditional Oktoberfest food and drink at the Chatham Oktoberfest Festival. There will be activities for the kids and a beer garden. The Pumpkin People in the Park will be up for all to enjoy, so you can check out all of the different pumpkin people displays throughout the park.
