Summer is right around the corner, and it is time to set up your child’s summer schedule. Most Cape Cod summer programs have already started filling slots for the season, so now is the time to check out all of your options to find the right fit for your little one. Here is a list of some of the Cape Cod summer programs for your kids this year:
Nauset Youth Alliance
Location: Eddy Elementary School, Brewster
Dates: June 26 thru August 18, 2017
Cost: Full Day 4-5 Days/week 50.00 per day; Full Day 1,2 or 3 Days/week 55.00 per day; Half Day Morning 7:30 am – 12:00 pm 32.50 per day; Half Day Afternoon 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm 37.50 per day
Details: This program is available for children kindergarten age to 14 years old. Activities have a weekly theme, and there are several field trips such as Water Wizz, Sky Zone and whale watches. There is a $50 registration fee per family and t-shirts are available for campers for $15 apiece. Two nutritious snacks are provided during the day, campers only need to bring their lunches.
Brewster Day Camp at the Family School
Location: The Family School; 3570 Main Street, Brewster
Dates: June 26 – August 18th
Cost: All special classes and field trips are at an additional fee. All scholarships should be received before May 1.

Details: There are plenty of extra classes such as horseback riding, Semi-Private Swim Lessons, Tennis, Golf and Standup Paddleboarding for an additional cost.
The Laurel School and Laurel Day Camp
Location: 1436 Long Pond Rd, Brewster
Dates: June 19 – August 18

Details: The Laurel Day Camp is open to children aged 15 months to grade 11. The camp programs and activities focus on nature and the arts. There are flower and vegetable gardens on this 2.5 acre property, along with 4 age appropriate playground areas, wooden hiking paths and various sports courts. You can also find applications for Brewster Rec summer camp and the Counselor in Training program for The Laurel Day Camp. There is extended care available for campers that need a longer day. Certain activities such as golf and horseback riding are extra and there is a t-shirt and application fee.
Monomoy Community Services
Location: Monomoy Community Services;
Dates: TBD
Cost: Estimated to be $30 for a partial day / $60 for a full day. (final costs will be released April 24)
Details: Complete information about the summer program will be available on the Monomoy Community Services website on April 24th. Preference given to Chatham residents, but then opens up for other town residents. The camp is available for children from kindergarten to 4th grade. The program runs 7:30 – 5:30, with both half days and full days offered. Scholarships are available, and DEEC vouchers are accepted. The summer program is split into two different age groups that participate in age appropriate activities.
Monomoy Regional School District Summer Program
Location: Monomoy Regional Middle School; 425 Crowell Road, Chatham
Dates: July 5 – August 18
Cost: Mon. – Fri.: $199.50/week; Tues./ Wed./Thurs. or Mon./Wed./Fri.: $108.90; Tues./Thurs: $76.60; Flexible 2 days/week: $100 (Weekly fees do not include field trip fees and there is a $50 application processing fee)
Details: The staff at this summer program is made up of certified teachers, high school and college students. There will be 1 age appropriate field trip per week in addition to educationally based programs, 3 beach trips a week, and sports activities.The camp is open to children from kindergarten to 7th grade.
Mass Audubon’s Natural History Day Camp in Chatham
Location: Chatham Elementary School; Crowell Road, Chatham
Dates: June 16 – September 1
Cost: Half Day: 9 AM−12:30 PM. Fee: $225 Members / $290 Non-Members per week; Full Day: 9 AM− 2:30 PM. Fee: $285 Members / $345 Non-Members, per week
Details: The camp offers both full days and half days Monday – Friday. The program is open to children aged 4 to 13, where they can explore tidal flats and trails, create art, and do science experiments. Each week has a theme, and the group sizes are kept small to benefit the children’s experiences.
The Scargo School
Location: 218 Main Street, South Dennis
Dates: 6 weeks
Cost: $150 per week
Details: Lunch and snacks are included in the $150 weekly fee to participate in the camp. The hours of the camp are Tues./Wed./Thurs. 9 am – 3 pm. Enrollment is open for current students, past students of the school and those enrolled in the fall. There is a field trip every week, plenty of outdoor water play and air conditioned classrooms for those hot days that you need to escape the heat and humidity.
The Partnership School

Details: Deposits were due April 1st (50%), and the remaining balance is due June 1st. Every week has a different theme, which include creatures under the sea, the wild wild west and creepy crawly creatures.
My Little Island Preschool
Location: 40 Lieutenant Island Rd, Wellfleet,

Cost: Tuition is based on number of days and age of children. There is a $30 registration fee
Details: The Cape Cod summer program at My Little Island Preschool is offered to children from birth to age 8. When the weather permits, there will be swimming lessons in their pool, which is only filled with 4 feet of water.
Wellfleet Bay Natural History Day Camp
Location: Mass Audubon; 291 Route 6, Wellfleet
Dates: June 26 – September 1
Cost: Price varies by age, and includes full days and half days. Members receive a discount on cost of camp. See website for details.
Details: Campers are separated by age to participate in age appropriate activities, which have a different theme every week.
Cape Cod Summer Programs
There is a variety of Cape Cod summer programs to choose from, so it is wise to check out all of your options. Ask your friends and family where they take their children for the summer then take a tour of the facility with your child. Not all programs are the same, so ask what their hours of operation are, and if they have extended care if you need it. Some camps will charge you if you arrive after a certain time, (some charge $1/minute) so make sure the schedule fits your needs.
