Eastham is best known for its beaches and conservation area. This narrow strip of land serves as the gateway to the National Seashore, a 27,000 acre park protecting the Outer Cape and a third of Eastham’s total land. The benefit is being able to explore a region where little has changed since American author and Transcendentalist, Henry David Thoreau, wrote about it in his excursion book, Cape Cod, 150 years ago. Eastham is bordered by the Atlantic ocean on its East side and Cape Cod Bay on its West side. You’ll enjoy miles of walking and bike trails that wind through the woods, marshes and historical sites. It is a nature lover’s paradise.
