About Sandwich
There are two small cottage colonies (Brewster Bayside Cottages and Nickerson Park) built around 1940 that are close to Nickerson State Park and within an easy drive to the beach. These are Sandwich, the oldest incorporated town on Cape Cod: Centrally located, just an hour from Boston, Providence & Provincetown. It is known as “The Museum Town” hosting plenty of historical & working museums. Here you will find the Heritage Museum & Garden, Sandwich Glass Museum, as well as the Hoxie House, the oldest surviving house on the Cape. Get outdoors in Sandwich. Enjoy the many walking & biking trails located throughout the community. Take a stroll down the Sandwich Town Boardwalk or bike down the path skirting the Cape Cod Canal. There are an intricate amount of art galleries, antique shops, coffee houses and taverns. Sandwich is one of the surrounding towns that host Otis Air Force Base. You will find that Sandwich has a highly rated school district as well.
