About Truro
The town where the Pilgrims first set their feet on North American soil back in 1620, consisting of two villages, Truro & North Truro. It is approximately 2 hours away from Boston, give or take, depending on the timing of traffic. As you drive throughout the community, you will notice its rolling hills & dunes along the coast. It is considered a more exclusive place of residence, with over half the land in Truro located in the “Cape Cod National Seashore”. Here is the home of the first lighthouse on Cape Cod, named the Cape Cod Highland Lighthouse (aka. Cape Cod Light). There are just over 10 beaches for you to enjoy the calmness of the sea. Truro is bordered by Cape Cod Bay to the west, Provincetown to the north, the Atlantic Ocean to the north/east, and Wellfleet to the south. In North Truro, this is where you will find Truro Vineyards. Take a stroll through the sweeping vines, take a tour of the Winery, enjoy a picnic on a warm sunny day, feel the breeze coming off the bay. Truro attracts artists, writers & free-thinkers alike, therefore you’ll find plenty of galleries to choose from. Looking to check out some local creativity & history, Truro has museums including the Highland House & Susan Baker Memorial.
